Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
by Edward Albee

In November 2003, I'd performed in my last play in South London. In April 2005, we moved to Norfolk. It then took me a further three-and-a-half years to pluck up the courage to audition for a show local to our new home; but what a part to be cast in. Nearly six years after my previous stage outing, Albee's play was the toughest challenge yet. The alcoholic, abusive, manipulative, emotional, vulnerable Martha remains one of my very proudest stage achievements; the cast and crew were all wonderful colleagues; and I found myself catapulted very firmly into the performing era of the middle-aged woman.
